THANKSGIVING PLACEMAT
This Thankful Placemat is a super cute Thanksgiving activity for kids -and one they can show off while eating their turkey and stuffing. There’s nothing to trace and you only need a few materials in order to complete! Hang these Thankful Placemats on your bulletin board and then send them home in time for the Thanksgiving break.
Along with the Thankful Placemat, I’ve included a creative writing activity that can easily be used for a Thanksgiving themed writing lesson. Brainstorm together as a whole group what the perfect Thanksgiving would be like. Would there be pizza? Maybe a yearly tradition of making S’mores? Or maybe it’s the just typical (yet delicious) classic Thanksgiving feast. Whatever the perfect Thanksgiving is to each students is up to them.
Students can draft their essay on the graphic organizer I’ve included and then write their final drafts on the template below. These make for great bulletin boards! Just staple at the top two corners when displaying if students need to use a second page for their writing.
One thing I think we can all agree on is that time spent chatting with family around the dinner table is never time wasted. With all the distractions in the world today -It’s also extremely valuable. These Conversation Cards are a way for children to spark those conversations with their family members.
Before students take these cards home to use with their families, you can partner them up and have them share their answers with their partners. The questions even work well as writing prompts that you can write on the board for morning work each day before Thanksgiving Break.

THANKSGIVING TURKEY HAT
There’s nothing cuter than seeing a flock of kindergarteners with turkey headbands leaving for Fall Break. These turkey headbands are easy to assemble and your students will love them! Simply print, have your students color them and then cut them out! Glue to a sentence strip then measure around your student’s head. Want more options than just a turkey? I’ve also included Pilgrim and Native American options.

IF MY TEACHER WAS A PILGRIM
Do your students think you have what it takes to live as a Pilgrim? This Editable If My Teacher Was a Pilgrim activity produces hilarious results! They are editable, so you’re able to customize the title with your name! I can imagine if I had given this to my students in the past, they would have decided the Pilgrim life probably wasn’t for me due to lack of iced coffee and dry shampoo!
TURKEY TROUBLE SUMMARY
This silly Thanksgiving story was always a favorite of my students. It’s about a turkey who is determined to NOT end up on the Thanksgiving table! If you haven’t read this one yet to your students I’m sure they’ll love it too! It also works well with teaching important skills like character traits , S.W.B.S.T. and Beginning, Middle and End.
I have a Digital Turkey Trouble Activity that can be used with ANY turkey book! There are three pages that cover the skills mentioned above and you can assign them digitally or print them out.
You could easily use all three activities for the book Turkey Trouble and then reuse them for another turkey book. “Run, Turkey, Run!” is another fun read aloud about a desperate Turkey that tries to hide from the farmer in very clever ways. Students can use the retelling sheet to tell about the importance events in the Beginning, Middle and End of the story.

Whether you’re in the classroom or distance learning. Traveling or staying home this year. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
This is the most creative thing I have ever seen! If I were a teacher I would buy all my material from you! Can I share this and people buy stuff?
